Avoiding Fraud and Scams

While we haven't seen much sign of fraud here on the Excellence Porsches for Sale classifieds, there is no guarantee that all ads are from reputable sellers.

Our advice to buyers:

Meet the seller and check out the car in person.

No matter how good it looks, have it checked by a Porsche Technician.

Watch out for these signs of a potential scam:

  • The asking price is unusually low
  • The seller offers to ship the vehicle to you
  • The seller and vehicle are not in the same location
  • The seller requires payment by Western Union or a money wire

If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

If you suspect or are a victim of fraudulent activity, please report it to the U.S. Internet Crime Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov) and the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov)
