This fun 1968 Porsche 911 Targa in Tangerine with Black basketweave interior was originally sold at McPeak Motor Co. Porsche in Walnut Creek, California and remained in the area until 1995 when the current owner purchased it. At 102,000 miles the car was completely restored. The odometer shows 40,008 currently since the restoration. Originally equipped with a Sporto-matic transmission, it was switched to a 5-speed manual transmission during the restoration.
The Porsche was relocated to Virginia in 1996. The car was repainted in its original color in 2014 and clear coated for better longevity. Mechanical work includes a multi spark discharge electronic ignition system to replace the points and condenser. This eliminates a tendency for spark plugs to fowl when starting the car after a long period of disuse. The installation was done to be not noticeable and can be easily reversed, if so desired. The brake master cylinder and all brake calibers have been replaced or rebuilt. This Porsche Targa shows well and is in great mechanical condition and ready to enjoy.
