  • Description: Man I do love a Porsche 914. Partly, because I love Porsche and VW, so when they collaborate on a project it makes me pay attention. From 1969 through 1976 They built the 914 and was only available as a Targa-Topped two-seater. The only difference between was that the 914/4 Cylinder cars were manufactured in a VW Karmann factory and the extremely coveted 914/6 was manufactured in house at Porsche along with only 2 914/8 cars that are unobtainable. In fact, even the 6 cylinder cars are extremely rare, out of the 115,646 914’s produced only 3,300 were 6 cylinder cars. Now, what we have here is a very nice and tidy driver quality 914 finished in Zambezi Green over black with a very nice and clean interior. Yes, the paint is older and is not a concourse restored car but is very nice for a driver. This car was had some work done by 914 Limited out of Peoria, IL back in 2007. I have some other miscellaneous paperwork but not a full sheet. The seller used us to sell his 964 a couple years back and is currently working on a 911 SC project, so this car has to go to make room in his shop. The wheels and tires are like new and he installed a really nice stereo with blue tooth technology. This 914 is a hoot to drive. It starts nicely, has a nice sound (a little throaty), shifts, brakes and accelerates as it should. Its comfy, doesn’t rattle or clunk, syncros are good and most of all, the body on this car is pretty solid and from what I can tell was a body on re-paint. The pans and underside have a little surface rust but do not see any issues with rot and no holes in the floor or tire well. This 914 does not appear to be leaky or smoking and from my assessment is ready to be enjoyed immediately.
