1988 930 Turbo Group B Works Kit
Rare Porsche 911 Turbo (930), MY88 with a powerful “Group B” package installed by the Swedish importer. Turbos with this kit were modified for greater performance and consisted of a larger oil cooler, intercooler and turbocharger (Option codes were SOW 20 and SOW22). A driver-adjustable boost control from a 935 was installed, and cylinder heads with lower compression were fitted to accommodate the increase in boost which could increase the power from 330 to 360 hp. The only external clue that this was not a stock Turbo was the larger oil radiator installed into a specific front spoiler. This Group B kit was only available from the factory or via Porsche/VAG-owned importers due to the extensive modifications required.
This example was imported and modified by Porsche’s Swedish distributor and was first delivered on 15 January 1988 through Porsche Stockholm. It had three previous private owners and shows less than 42,000 km on its odometer.
Finished in Guards Red over black leather, it is equipped with standard Turbo options, then with limited slip differential, electric sunroof, power-adjustable sport seats, security system and automatic climate-control.
This car is supplied with all its original manuals and service books, TÜV inspection records, air compressor, spare key and a mint tool kit. Only 677 Turbos were produced with ‘Rest-of-the-World’ specs in 1988 and the ones with original Group B kit are supposed to be no more than 30.
The could be seen in Bologna by appointment. Swedish documents and title.
