This 1967 Porsche 911 “S” is a nice departure from the endless line of restored first year 911 “S” models. This is a complete car, never completely disassembled to improve or make repair. It has never been completely apart to restore. The parts that are on this car are all of the parts that were on the car when it was assembled in 1967.
The car originated in Illinois and was ordered by Paul Dickinson from Western Springs.
The car was purchased in 1977 by a Michigan family from the second owner. That purchase “agreement” is documented and included in the sale of the car. The car was subject to a glass out repaint in 1985 by the Michigan owner. It has been driven and shown throughout the Midwest at Porsche Parades and Concours events. The car still wears the paint applied by the 3rd owner in 1985. In October of 2016 the car was selected to be in the Gilmore Car Museum’s “Golden Age of Sports Cars” display.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity corroborates the correct numbers matching engine and transmission for this car.
The car remains finished in its original color 6602 of Polo Red with Black Leatherette interior. It was optioned with:
Tinted Glass All Around
2 Pairs of Safety Belts – L/R
Dunlop Tires (165/15)
The car is fitted with correct date coded 4.5 × 15 Fuchs alloys expertly restored in California. New 165-15 tires are fitted.
The original 6 bolt valve covers and camshaft housings have been replaced with later style 12 bolt valve covers and camshaft housings. The original 6 bolt valve covers and camshaft housings are included in the sale.
