This 1951 model year Porsche 356 Split windshield Cabriolet was imported to New York by Max Hoffman in early Feb. 1952. It has been off the road since the late 1960’s. Retrieved from a auto junkyard in Los Angeles, Calif. in 1973 by a well known Porsche collector. I have a clear title/Certificate of ownership in my name so it can be shipped overseas if necessary. It is mostly original paint, never welded! Color is Azure Blue with tan leather interior. This Split cabriolet comes with many original parts! It comes with its original Hirth roller bearing crankshaft and its factory stamped, original 527 / 1500 eng. block P-30108, original dashboard, Veigal black/white faced speedometer and tachometer, (2) original doors, front hood, rear decklid, top folding cabriolet frame assembly, Moto-Meter oil temperature gauge, center instrument panel with Veigal black/white faced clock, ignition switch, headlight switch, 2 visors, ash tray, Petri banjo steering wheel, flip rear view mirror, inside/ouside door handles, window winders, both front seats, (2) split windshields , door glass, rear glass with wooden frame surround and rubber, aluminum Reutter fender badge, (2) wooden door caps, (5) original 1952 slotted 16” wheels, full crash transaxle with correct hoop, fuel tank, steering tube/shaft, emergency brake handle assembly, square glass tail lights, pointy front/rear turn signal lens with bases and bezels, license light and bracket, aluminum bumper trim, aluminum deco. trim,…if there are any other items that I forgot, please let me know if you are a serious buyer. Overseas offers are welcomed. Will aid in shipping as long as all costs are covered by buyer.
I don’t have to remind you how rare and desirable these early Split Windshield 356 cars are. I sold my other Split Cabriolet about 5 years ago and this is my last one. Not many left as they are being bought up and very few remain. This one is “ripe” and ready for a proper restoration. Money comes and goes but these Split Windshield Cabs. don’t change hands very often. Don’t miss your opportunity to own a piece early Porsche history. Please send me an email to make an appointment to view the car/parts in person. I don’t post photos as there are too many photo collectors. I posted all the parts that come with this car so you already know what is included in this listing. I would expect any serious buyer/restorer would respect and understand my position. If you have any questions that are not addressed in my listing, please send me a note. Cheers Amigos. ;-)
