1970 914-6 GT (race clone)

This 914 was professionally converted to a 914-6 GT, (2.5ltr.) at a customers request, and built to SVRA Group-8 standards by Air Cooled Racing, about 6 years ago. They also serviced it, and provided track side assistance and transportation over the coming years.
In Feb. of 2013 the owner decided to move up to the faster Group-10, and had the engine rebuilt to 2.7, with all the right stuff!
Since then, it only has a couple hours test and tune runs at Sebring.
The case was align bored, shuffle pinned, and had squirters installed, the 70.4mm crank was center drilled, cleaned and polished, then assembled with JE 10.5:1 pistons, Carrillo rods, and slipped into a new set of 90 mm Nickies… Porsche 906 cams were installed, the heads were ported and polished, and matched up to the intakes for the 46mm. Webers. A lightened flywheel, and a Sachs clutch kit transitioned the power to the custom geared ( A.GA.KA.Q.V)901 transmission, and 930 axles.
The chassis was stripped, and reinforced in critical areas, then tied-in with a mild steel roll cage, and epoxy painted. The rear trailing arms were reinforced, and Koni adjustable coil overs were installed…Up front, spherical bearing plates hold RSR type Bilstein coil overs, and a 1" sway bar with adjustable arms and drop links.
Superior braking is handled by a Dual hanging Tilton set up with balance bar, Willwood 4-piston Calipers on all corners. Running 7×15 Fuchs up front and 9×15 Minilites in the rear, shod with Hoosier’s.
The body was lightened with correct balsa reinforced fiberglass hood and deck, light fiberglass roof, fenders, quarters and bumpers.
Special Cibie Oscar driving lights for running Enduro events are easily detachable.
A large Halon fire system is installed with nozzles in all three compartments.
Porsche 10k. RPM tach, dual gauge pyrometer, and fuel pressure incorporated in a custom dash.
